Painting Costs
This bulletin addresses painting costs common to commercial and industrial interior improvements. The costs presented here are an average of those received in response to a survey of local painting contractors. The pricing is presented in a "rule of thumb" context; several factors will affect the actual cost on your project. These are: a) project size b) actual conditions on the site c) number of quotes received d) market forces at the time of bid.
To calculate a painting job using this table you must first determine the square feet of wall surface and then multiply that figure by the unit cost shown in the table. Multiply linear feet of wall by wall height to obtain surface area. Remember to double your figure on walls where two side will be painted.

Unit cost prices are given for one or two coats of paint. Use the "two coats' unit when new paint is dissimilar in color to the existing paint. When colors are similar; use "one coat" unit.
