Doors, frames and hardware
This bulletin addresses doors, frames and hardware unit costs common
in commercial interior improvements. The costs are presented in
a 'rule of thumb' context and several factors will affect the final
cost: a) scope of the work and working conditions
and b) market forces at the time of bid.The pricing
does NOT include a general contractor's markup - If you have a GC,
costs will be slightly higher.
Doors, frames and hardware are presented as "Assemblies"
consisting of the frame, the door and passage hardware and where
indicated, glass - and transportation and labor required to install
them - but not the cost of special hardware to provide a fire rating.
The tables below illustrate two very common door types in office
environments:
1) Birch, prefinished walnut in dark bronze aluminum frame
2) Maple, prefinished clear (blond color) in a clear (aluminum
color) aluminum frame
